From Garden to Table — Learning and Living with the Land

At A Quinta in Alentejo, the garden is more than a place to grow food — it’s where learning, community, and care for the earth come together. Each seed we plant carries a lesson in patience, balance, and connection with nature.

Meet Daniel

Starting Saturday, 8 November, and continuing every week, Daniel invites you to join him in the gardens of A Quinta for a hands-on experience in sustainable and regenerative gardening. Together, we’ll explore dry farming, soil science, and natural food production, learning how to grow healthy vegetables in harmony with the seasons.

Here, we practice dry farming, letting the plants grow mostly with the rain nature provides. A little irrigation helps them at the start and again later in the cycle, but most of the time, the garden rests in balance with the land. The vegetables that grow this way are strong, full of flavor, and alive with the story of the soil.

After a morning in the garden, we gather in the kitchen to cook and share a meal, turning fresh ingredients into something simple and nourishing. On rainy days, we move indoors for an inspiring session on regenerative farming practices — and still end the day around the table, together.

Every week is a chance to reconnect — with the soil, with food, and with each other. Whether you’re curious about permaculture, want to deepen your understanding of sustainable living, or simply love spending time outdoors, you’re welcome to join.

Come experience the journey from garden to table — learning, growing, and living with the land.
